It is with profound sorrow that we share the untimely passing of current Stillman College student Sieas Elliot and alumni Destiny Gardner and Varick Lawrence. The three were involved in a tragic automobile accident in the Atlanta, Georgia metro area on the evening of May 23, 2025.
Stillman College celebrated its 2025 Commencement on Saturday, May 10, as over 65% of graduates earned honors, showcasing the institution’s unwavering commitment to academic excellence. The ceremony, held in Birthright Alumni Hall due to inclement weather, celebrated 121 graduates and highlighted the growing partnership between Stillman and Google, which presented a $30,000 gift to the college.
I Dream Big Charter School, in proud partnership with Stillman College, hosted a Groundbreaking Ceremony on Tuesday, April 29 to celebrate the launch of the first HBCU-Charter School partnership in the state of Alabama. The event on Stillman College’s campus marks a transformative milestone in education, equity, and opportunity for families in Tuscaloosa and beyond.
Stillman College was recently awarded a $75,000 Innovation Lounge Grant from the Home Depot Retool Your School program for the creation of an innovation lounge on the top floor of the Hay College Center.
