Track team finishes 2nd at Meet, Hightower sets record

The Stillman Tigers Men’s Track team finished 2nd overall in the Gem of The Hills Invitational at Jacksonville State University.

 

There were 22 teams at the meet, 5 of which were pro affiliated and 6 teams were Divison II affiliates or lower.

 

Stillman’s Chester Hightower set the Jacksonville State Track Record in the 200-meter dash running a 21.5 track time.

 

Tyler Walker won the 110 hurdles, and Freshman Davinelle Fields won in the long jump competition.

 

Senior Christian Stokes won the Discuss competition.

 

In the men’s 4X100 event, the Stillman team comprised of Chester Hightower, Davinelle Fields, Tyler Walker and Mike Ricks won the event.

 

Oliver Wells, Chester Hightower, Phillip Howard and Demarcus Heard, won the 400 meters team event.

 

Stillman Placed 2nd overall in the Jacksonville State Track meet.

The Tigers will travel to Atlanta, GA to compete in the Morehouse and Clark Atlanta Invitational this Wednesday.
