March 23, 2008

TUSCALOOSA, Ala.-- Second baseman Bubba Frichter drove in three runs in the final two innings to help Stillman earn a 14-10 victory and a three-game series sweep over visiting Claflin on Sunday afternoon.

The win evens Stillman's overall mark at 15-15 and pushes its Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference record to 9-0. The win also extends the Tigers' SIAC regular-season streak to 32 games dating back to the 2006 season.

Fritcher finished the game 1-for-4 with four RBI. His base-clearing, three-run triple in the bottom of the seventh put Stillman back on top after trailing 9-8 heading into the bottom half of the inning. Freshman Brett Stewart (3-0) went the distance for the Tigers, earning the win while giving up 14 runs on 10 hits in nine innings of work.

Stillman scored a total of 58 runs in the series with 23- and 21-run outputs in Saturday's doubleheader.

Stillman will travel to SIAC Eastern Division leading Albany State for a three-game series beginning on March 29. The Tigers will close the road trip at West Florida on April 1.
