Welcome to the Stillman College Employment Page. Stillman College is accredited by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (1866 Southern Lane, Decatur, Georgia 30033-4097: Telephone number 404-679-4501) to award the Bachelor of Arts and the Bachelor of Science degrees. Assistant/Associate Professor of English

 

Date required:  August 2008.  Minimum requirements include an earned doctorate in English or related areas. The applicant should have a record of successful teaching at the collegiate level and a commitment to helping Freshman students develop their writing skills.  Duties will include teaching Freshman Composition courses, as well as upper level courses within the major.  Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.  Preference will be given to applicants with memberships in learned societies and demonstrated experience with integrating technology into classroom instruction.

Assistant/Associate Professor of Journalism

 

Date required:  August 2008.  Minimum requirements include an earned doctorate in Journalism or related areas. The applicant should have a record of successful teaching at the collegiate level and a commitment to mentoring students.  Duties will include teaching all levels of journalism courses and serving as the advisor to the student newspaper.  Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.  Preference will be given to applicants with memberships in learned societies and demonstrated experience with integrating technology into classroom instruction.

Assistant/Associate Professor of Speech

 

Date required:  August 2008.  Minimum requirements include an earned doctorate in Speech Communication or related areas. The applicant should have a record of successful teaching at the collegiate level and a commitment to mentoring students.  Duties will include teaching Public Speaking within the General Education Core Curriculum and selected other speech/drama courses.  Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.  Preference will be given to applicants with memberships in learned societies and demonstrated experience with integrating technology into classroom instruction.

Date required:  August 2008.  Minimum requirements include an earned doctorate in Visual Arts or Drama.  The applicant should have the following:  recent experience as a department chair, interpersonal, analytical, and communication skills, and a collaborative team approach to academic leadership.  Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.  Preference will be given to applicants with memberships in learned societies and demonstrated experience with integrating technology into classroom instruction. 

 

Department of Fine Arts

Assistant/Associate Professor of Music

 

Date required:  August 2008. Minimum requirements include an earned doctorate in Vocal Performance / Vocal Pedagogy.  The applicant should have a record of successful teaching at the collegiate level; keyboard skills; and experience in opera and Music Theater. Duties will include maintaining and recruiting a vocal studio and preparing students for choral, musical and college special events. Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.  Preference will be given to applicants with memberships in learned societies and demonstrated experience with integrating technology into classroom instruction.

POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT

 

Head Men’s Basketball Coach

 

Stillman College is accepting applications for a head coach in men’s basketball. The head coach will report directly to the Director of Athletics and be responsible for all phases of the program which include but are not limited to practice and game-day coaching, recruitment and retention of student-athletes, academic integrity, supervising assistant coach, scheduling, budget management, equipment purchases, and compliance with NCAA, conference, and college regulations.

Stillman is a NCAA Division II institution and is a member of the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC).

Required qualifications: Bachelors degree, coaching and recruiting experience as a head or assistant coach; strong interpersonal and communications skills; demonstrated organizational and management ability.
