Welcome to the Stillman College Employment Page. Stillman College is accredited by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (1866 Southern Lane, Decatur, Georgia 30033-4097: Telephone number 404-679-4501) to award the Bachelor of Arts and the Bachelor of Science degrees. The purposes of the College are realized through four organizational divisions: Academic Affairs, Business Administration, Institutional Advancement, and Student Affairs.

Located in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, Stillman College is a co-educational, historically black liberal arts institution, committed to fostering academic excellence and providing high quality educational opportunities for diverse populations with disparate levels of academic preparation. The College received a U.S. News and World Report ranking of 25th in Best Southern Comprehensive Colleges for 2006-2007.  Stillman enrolls an average of 1000 students who are taught and inspired by 60 full and part-time faculty members.

Nursing Program

Assistant/Associate Professor of Nursing in

Obstetrics and Pediatrics

 

Starting Date:   August 2008.  Minimum requirements include earned Bachelor of Science and Master of Science degrees in Nursing from an accredited School of Nursing, with teaching and practical experience in the area for which they are applying.  The doctoral degree is preferred and may be held in a related field of study.  Licensure as a Registered Nurse in the state of Alabama and BCLS certification are required. Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.

 

 

Department of English

Assistant/Associate Professor of Journalism

 

Starting Date: August 2008.  Minimum requirements include an earned doctorate in Journalism or related areas. The applicant should have a record of successful teaching at the collegiate level and a commitment to mentoring students.  Duties will include teaching all levels of journalism courses and serving as the advisor to the student newspaper.  Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.  Preference will be given to applicants with memberships in learned societies and demonstrated experience with integrating technology into classroom instruction.

Assistant/Associate Professor of Marketing

 

Starting Date:  August 2008.  Minimum requirements include an earned doctorate in Marketing or related qualifications.  A record of successful teaching at the college level in Marketing and related business courses and a commitment to student learning. Duties will include having the ability to translate theories in marketing into the practical world of marketing, mentoring and preparing students to participate in local and regional competitions, and contributing to improvements in the department.  Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.  Preference will be given to the applicant with demonstrated experience in integrating technology into classroom instruction.

Assistant/Associate Professor of Economics

 

Starting Date:  August 2008.  Requirements include an earned doctorate in Economics or related qualifications.  A record of successful teaching at the college level in Economics and related business courses and a commitment to student learning.  Duties will include teaching Principles of Economics, Managerial Economics, Statistics, Operations Management and other business courses to which the applicant is qualified.  Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.  Preference will be given to the applicant with demonstrated experience in integrating technology into classroom instruction.

Starting Date:  January 2009.  Minimum requirements include an earned doctorate/ABD/MACC/CPA or MBA – Accounting/CPA.  A record of successful teaching at the college level in Accounting and related business courses.  Preference will be given to the applicant with demonstrated real world experience, integrating technology into classroom instructions, mentoring, and preparing students to participate in local and regional competitions.  Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Starting Date:  January 2009.  Minimum requirements include an earned P.h.D or DBA or ABD in Business Management or related program with college level experience.  Ability to integrate course offerings with current applicable technologies.  Ability to teach, research and consult in Business Management courses and related fields.  Ability to review and mentor students’ theses.  Ability to involve and work with students in ongoing projects, internships, and community services. In addition to serving on College committees.  Teaching and relating to adult learners in classroom settings and online. Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
