On November 17, 1911, three undergraduates in a meeting with a biology professor at Howard University were inspired to form a new fraternal order.  With a fierceness in their hearts and minds, these young men followed that inspiration which led to the founding of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc.  This movement was like the drop of a pebble into the silent undisturbed water of stagnant fraternity life on campus.

The four continued to work within the initial circle.  They were sure that "Friendship is essential to the soul" and that "Manhood, Scholarship, Perseverance, and Uplift" were the essential goals now and forever.  The brothers of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc., truly believe "Boys become; men become better men; the best become Omega Men."
