Stillman Plans to Open Boutique to Benefit Students

  • 6-24-2010

Stillman plans to open two new locations on campus in which students can shop for professional clothing.

The first location, dedicated to helping male students attain professional men’s wear, will be called The Tiger’s Paw and it will be located in Knox Hall, a male residence hall.

The second location, dedicated to helping female students build professional wardrobes, will be called The Purr and it will be housed in Winsborough Hall, a female residence hall.

“It is important to dress professionally, but sometimes students have budgets that make buying business clothing difficult. At Stillman, we believe it to be very important to look your best and that is why every Thursday is campus-wide professional attire day,” said Dr. Sharon Whittaker, Vice President of Student Affairs and Boutique Club Committee Member.

The Boutique Club is requesting that donated clothing items are clean, pressed and in good repair.

“It is our hope that the Stillman Boutique Club will afford students the opportunity to dress for success on a budget they can afford,” said Whittaker.

Those interested in donating items to the Stillman Boutique Club can e-mail jbunton@stillman.edu for more information. The donation is tax-deductable and receipts will be issued at the time of donation.
