Davenport selected to participate in Georgia Literary Festival

Dr. Doris Davenport, Associate Professor of English, was invited to participate in the Georgia Literary Festival. The 13th annual Georgia Literary Festival will be held in the Sautee-Nacoochee Community in Northeast Georgia on October 15, 2011. The community is nestled in the Northeast Georgia mountains several miles south of Helen, GA. The festival is sponsored by the Georgia Center for the Book with the Georgia Humanities Council. Participation by authors in the festival is by committee invitation only.

Davenport was one of 10 writers or organizations to be invited. “Sautee-Nacoochee, GA is a small town in my home locale of Northeast Georgia so the event is extra special for me,” said Davenport.

A seasoned professor and writer, she expects to publish her eighth book of poetry in the near future.
