Nettles and Partridge Named to 2010 AFCA Division II Coaches’

All-America Team

Waco, TX—The 2010 AFCA Division II Coaches’ All-America Team was announced recently and two players from the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference were named to the team, Morehouse defensive lineman Derrin Nettles and Stillman punter Ronnie Partridge.

Nettles, a native of Montgomery, AL, was second in the nation with 27.5 tackles for loss. The 6-4, 305 senior also recorded 59 total tackles, 37 of which were solo, along with nine sacks, 12 quarterback hurries and seven forced fumbles, which led the nation.

Partridge, a junior from Ridge Spring, SC, led the nation in punting, averaging 45.51 yards per punt. In 11 games, he had 65 punts for 2958 total yards which included a long of 85 yards.

The AFCA has selected an All-America team since 1945 and currently selects teams in all five of its divisions. What makes these teams so special is that they are the only ones chosen exclusively by the men who know the players the best — the coaches themselves.
