Atlanta, GA| In the opening round of the 77th annual SIAC basketball tournament, the Stillman Lady Tigers powered its way to a 65-50 win over Paine College.

 Stillman went in at halftime with a 31-21 lead despite shooting only 35% for the half. Paine did not fare any better shooting only 27% for the half.

 In the second half, Stillman's second chance baskets on the offensive glass and timely defensive stops would allow the Lady Tigers to cruise down the stretch for the 1st round win. Foward Phyllice Eubanks had an outstanding performance scoring 14 points and grabbing a season high 17 rebounds.

 Center Alecia Young led all scorers with 19 points and pulled down 8 rebounds. Foward Jamila Mckinnis had 11 points and 6 rebounds.

 "The young lady's played hard today, I was really proud of the effort." Coach Michelle Wells said.        

 The Lady Tigers will turn its attention to #1 seed Fort Valley State University Wednesday in the Quarterfinal game at 4p.m. eastern time.
