Kentucky State Stuns Tigers

Tuscaloosa, AL| In the night cap, The Tigers fell to Kentucky State 82-78 in front of a boisterous crowd in Birthright Auditorium.
The Tigers shot 50% from the field in the first half and never trailed . Kentucky State would shoot 54% from the field on 12 of 22 shooting but still found itself down 12 at the break.
Lajay sears led all scorers at halftime with 23 points.
In the second half, Stillman would increase its lead to 18 with 16:57 to play, only to have that deficit erased by Kentucky State in the late stages of the game.
Kentucky State would finally tie the game at 71 with 3:03 to go. With the score knotted at 77, Kentucky State would get the ball on an inbounds play off a Stillman Turnover and scored with 2.5 seconds to play.
Kentucky State’s Parysh Munroe would score on a lay-up and was fouled on the play as well. Munroe would sink the free throw and gave the Thoroughbreds the 80-78 lead.
A few free throws by Kentucky State would make the final score 82-78 and leave the Stillman crowd in utter silence.
Lajay Sears had a game high 28 points and 10 rebounds. Rakee Anderson had 19 points.
With the loss, Stillman falls to 13-10 overall and 11-10 in SIAC play.
Stillman will host Lane College on Saturday.
