Dr. Norman Golar, Assistant Professor of English and Chair of the English Department, has been selected by the Alumni Council of the Knox College Alumni Association to receive the 2012 Young Alumni Achievement Award. This award is conferred annually to an alumna/us in recognition of meritorious career achievements. Alumni Achievement Awards will be given in conjunction with Founders Day Convocation scheduled for Friday, February 17, 2012.  

A native of Chicago, Illinois, Dr. Goalr received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Knox College. He received a Masters of Fine Arts degree and Doctor of Philosophy in Composition, Rhetoric, and English Studies from The University of Alabama.  Dr. Golar teaches classes in the Department of English and has been in higher education for eight years.
