Assistant/Associate Professor of Marketing
Minimum requirements: Ph.D./ABD in Marketing or related qualifications. A record of successful teaching at the collegiate level in Marketing and related business courses. Ability to translate theories in Marketing into the practical world of Marketing commitment to mentoring and preparing there students to participate in local and regional competitions contributing to our curricula evaluation and improvements.
Preference will be given to the applicant with demonstrated experience with integrating technology into classroom instructions.
Assistant Professor of Special Education
Minimum Requirements: Doctorate required in Special Education or related field. Candidates must have a minimum of 3 years of documented special education teaching experience in grades 6-12 or college level. Expertise in one or more of the following areas: cross-cultural competence, first and second language acquisition, technology including adaptive materials and equipment, assessment, high incidence disabilities and inclusion, and instruction in the content areas.
Duties: To teach special education courses, including Educating Exceptional Children, Assessing Children with Disabilities, Assistive Technology, and/or electives as determined by the needs of the department and the interests of the faculty member. Other duties include assisting students in course work, advising and monitoring the academic progress of students, engaging students in undergraduate research, and establishing a fundable research program
Other Requirements and Responsibilities: Applicants should possess the ability to use technology to enhance classroom teaching and student learning. Other duties include assisting students in course work and advising and monitoring the academic progress of students.
The position starting date is August, 2013.
Assistant Professor of Physical Education
Minimum Requirements: Doctorate preferred in Physical Education or related field, ABD candidates will be considered. Candidates must have a minimum of 3 years of documented physical education teaching experience in grades K-12 or college level.
Duties: To teach physical education courses, including Applied Anatomy, Prevention and Care of Athletic Injuries, Measurement and Evaluation in PE, Senior Thesis and/or others as determined by the needs of the department and the interests of the faculty member. Other duties include assisting students in course work, advising and monitoring the academic progress of students including their senior thesis, assist with departmental NCATE work, supervise teacher interns.
Other Requirements and Responsibilities: Applicants should possess the ability to use technology to enhance classroom teaching and student learning. Grant writing experience desirable.
Assistant or Associate Professor of Journalism
Minimum Requirements: M.A. or Ph.D. (terminal degree) in Journalism or Mass Communication. Professional and academic experience is highly desirable in desktop publishing, video and audio production, multi-media writing and production, graphic design, photography / photojournalism, web / digital media, social media, and/or online reporting. Applicants who have background and interest in advertising and/or public relations may apply.
Duties: Teach lower- and upper-division courses in journalism (focused on but not limited to media writing, photojournalism, public relations, and “new” media production). Teach with the ability to use technology to enhance classroom teaching and student learning; and advise and mentor undergraduates.
Assistant or Associate Professor of Biology
Minimum Requirements: Ph.D. in Biology or related area, with the ability to use technology to enhance classroom teaching and student learning. Research experiences in biomedical sciences a plus.
Duties: To teach biology courses, including General Biology, Cellular Biology, Anatomy and Physiology, Genetics and/or electives as determined by the needs of the department and the interests of the faculty member. Other duties include assisting students in course work, advising and monitoring the academic progress of students, engaging students in undergraduate research, and establishing a fundable research program.
Assistant Professor of Music
Minimum Requirements: Doctorate in Music. Knowledge of vocal and instrumental repertoire, experience accompanying vocal, instrumental and choral literature at the college level and sight-reading competency, with the ability to use technology to enhance classroom teaching and student learning.
Duties: To coach and accompany undergraduate voice and instrumental music majors in various performances including degree recitals, auditions, and juries. To teach music courses, including Music Theory and Aural Skills, Class Piano, and/or electives as determined by the needs of the department and the interests of the faculty member. Other duties include accompanying the college choir, assisting students in course work, and advising and monitoring the academic progress of students.
