Stillman College is accepting applications for the faculty positions listed below. Duties will include assisting students in course work and advising and monitoring the academic progress of students. Positions require that the faculty member demonstrate the ability to use technology to enhance classroom teaching and student learning. Competitive Salary.
Assistant Professor of Nursing. Duties include teaching nursing courses, including Obstetrics, Pediatrics, and Adult Health. A Ph.D. in Nursing is required.
Assistant Professor of Art. Duties include teaching art courses, including ceramics, photography, graphic design, sculpture, and art history. A MFA is required.
Assistant Professor of Journalism. Duties include teaching journalism courses, including new media and telecommunication. A Ph.D. in Journalism or Mass Communications is required.
Assistant/Associate Professor of Marketing Starting Date: August 2010. Minimum requirements include an earned doctorate in Marketing or related qualifications, a record of successful teaching at the college level in Marketing and related business courses and a commitment to student learning. Duties will include having the ability to translate theories in marketing into the practical world of marketing, mentoring and preparing students to participate in local and regional competitions, and contributing to improvements in the department. Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Preference will be given to the applicant with demonstrated experience in integrating technology into classroom instruction.
COUNSELOR/EMPLOYMENT SERVICES COORDINATOR, STUDENT DEVELOPMENT CENTER
Duties: provides career, especially employment preparation and services, to the campus community via the presentation of workshops, career fairs, symposiums, and coordination of employment related activities
REPORT TO: Director, Student Development/Health Center
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Coordinate programs related to full time and part time employment opportunities for students and alumni.
Counsel students with career related concerns and make referrals as needed.
Collect data regarding the employment of students and alumni and submit reports to appropriate college officials.
Implement the collection and distribution of employment related information (including co-ops and internships) to faculty, staff, and students.
Submit an outreach plan to center director and Vice president for Student Affairs to increase visibility of employment services unit.
Develop, implement, and evaluate program activities and materials that assist students in career planning/exploration (e.g., career fairs/workshops, part time employment, internships/cooperative education activities, summer employment opportunities).
Update and edit career related materials; recommend the purchase of materials to augment Center Resource Room.
Effectively utilize technology in increasing student exposure to career opportunities (e.g., Internet, Stillman College Web Page); serve as liaison for e-recruiters
Monitor and assist students in the completion of placement packets, resumes, cover letters, and follow-up correspondence.
Type, proofread and edit placement materials.
Prepare charts and provide statistical data related to career services.
Assist in development of electronic placement file system; provide primary monitoring of service.
Provide liaison services to senior administrators, mid-level administrators, and SDC staff to update application process/policies/procedures for co-ops and internships; publicize process to faculty, staff, students, and alumni.
SKILLS and ABILITIES
Masters in student affairs or career related area; knowledge of theories of career counseling theories; experience in corporate or college environment with responsibility for employment recruitment and/or placement; experience in the placement of students in internships, co-ops, and part-time and full time employment; experience as presenter/group facilitator; excellent written and verbal communication skills; willingness to work flexible hours; ability to type and to experience with Word, Excel, PowerPoint; knowledge of web career resources. Ability to lift 20 lbs. and to walk up and down stairs.

Educational Support Services
Stillman College invites applicants to apply for the Academic Advisor position with the Upward Bound Program. A Master’s Degree in the area of education, student personnel, counseling, or a related field with two years of professional experience in guidance, counseling, social work, and/or teaching is required. The counselor must possess personal and professional qualities necessary in working with students and instructors, must be familiar with the needs and issues of underrepresented individuals from low-income backgrounds, and must have excellent writing, interpersonal communication, computer, and advisement skills.
Stillman College invites applicants for the full-time Professional English Tutor position in the department of Educational Support Services. Applicants must have (at least) a Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of three years’ teaching experience, although a Master’s degree is preferred. Additional requirements include sufficient knowledge of subject matter and the ability to effectively tutor students from diverse backgrounds; exhibit personal and professional qualities necessary for working with students, faculty members and administrators and perform other duties as required to promote Program effectiveness.
