Alumni Accolades
A 1964 alumna of Stillman, Betty Brown Williamson is the epitome of the Stillman persona. She has reached unprecedented heights in her professional, civic, and personal endeavors. Mrs. Williamson is owner, president, and CEO of Williamson Enterprises, a conglomerate of nursing homes, funeral homes, and car washes in Atlanta, Athens, and Riverdale, Georgia. She is the author of two textbooks and numerous articles and monographs on long-term care for the elderly. Mrs. Williamson serves on the Stillman College Board of Trustees and was the first African-American woman to serve as chair.
Mrs. Williamson believes in positive involvement and has effected constructive change at Stillman and in her profession and community. Her honors include appointments by three governors to the Georgia State Board of Nursing Home Administrators, of which she is the immediate past chair; and her selection as the Georgia State Administrator of the Year, a first for an African-American. Mrs. Williamson’s unfaltering support of the College is evidenced in her most recent donation of $25,000.
