“Stillman Accreditation Remains Intact”

Stillman remains fully accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS) despite the continuation of its warning status.

“As we anticipated, the Commission on Colleges continued the College on warning,” said Stillman President, Dr. Ernest McNealey. “The College remains fully accredited and will have until September 7 to submit a monitoring report.”

Although generally not well understood, the continuation of the warning will have no effect on the College’s students nor the manner in which they receive instruction. “Our students will continue to receive the outstanding education that is part of Stillman’s mission. This is evidenced in the personalized instruction our students receive as a result of maintaining a student/faculty ratio of 15:1,” said McNealey.

Despite an unyielding economy, the College maintains $17,575 in endowment funds for each student enrolled. Notwithstanding, the College has maintained four, discipline specific accreditations in education, business, nursing, and music—all of which the College was successful in satisfying the component addressing financial support.

“The Commission acknowledged the progress the College has made thus far, despite the short period between the first notification and the time given the College to respond,” said McNealey.
