Bio

Laura Parsons is the Music Area Coordinator and Assistant Professor of Music at Stillman College in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. She teaches applied  music to all students studying brass instruments and coaches the brass ensemble. Additionally, Dr. Parsons teaches several academic courses in music. She earned her M.M. and D.M.A. degrees in Trumpet Performance from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro and her B.M. degree in Music Education from Mars Hill College in North Carolina. She has also taught at Pittsburg State University in Pittsburg, Kansas, and at Salem  College and Wake Forest University in Winston- Salem, North Carolina.

Recent Performances/Exhibits

April, 2012, performed principal trumpet part with the Prentice Chorale in J.S. Bach’s B Minor Mass.
Numerous performances for convocations and special events on the Stillman College Campus, including performing on Horn in F with the Stillman College Wind Ensemble.
