Dr. Hye-Sook Jung is currently an Assistant Professor at Stillman College where she is teaching Piano, Music Theory and accompanying student and faculty recitals. She is also maintains a private studio of pre-college students and serves as a president of West Alabama Music Teachers Association. She received her Bachelor of Music degree of Piano Performance at HanYang University, and her Master of Music Degree of Piano Accompanying from Sungshin University in South Korea. Dr. Jung completed her Doctoral Degree from The University of Alabama where she was a student of Amanda Penick. During her entire study at the University of Alabama, she was a recipient of the Narramore Music scholar Award, which is the most prestigious fellowship at the School of Music.

She was a winner of the Concerto and Aria competition and performed a solo with Huxford Symphony Orchestra. This performance was broadcast through Alabama Public Television. She also performed Stravinsky Piano Concerto with the Alabama Wind Ensemble at Moody Concert Hall.  Recently, she invited as a guest collaborative pianist with the University Singers of the University of Alabama and performed in four different cities in
South Korea. In addition, she has performed frequently as a guest on the public television series “The Pianists at Work”. Dr. Jung also served as a collaborative pianist for 100 recitals with various ensembles, including Opera Workshop, University Singers, Tuscaloosa Community Singers, Alabama boy’s Choir and Stillman Choir. She has previously served as a Music Instructor of Indian Springs School at Birmingham, Alabama.
