Lucinda Coulter holds a B.A. degree in English from Indiana University, as well as M.A. and Ph.D. degrees in English from Purdue University. She has more than 20 years experience as a reporter and editor in newspaper and magazine industries. She has won national awards for news writing in the National Federation of Press Women and the American Society of Business Publication Editors.

She has taught in journalism higher education for six years in the areas of news writing, news editing, feature writing and advanced magazine  production, and has advised several student publications.
